The party is back …the sun shone and the London Press Club’s summer party last night (24 August) was voted a winner by all those attended.
More than 50 Press Club members and supporters enjoyed drinks in the garden of the Royal Over-Seas League in St James’s.
Many members said it was the first time they had been at a social gathering for 18 months and hoped it would be the start of many more club events.
Press Club chairman Doug Wills said: “It was a wonderful evening. We’ve never held an event in August before and we weren’t sure how it would be received. But there’s never been times like this – and everyone loved the idea as was shown last night. The Royal Over-Seas League with their terrific garden was a perfect location to come back in style.
“We now hope to resume regular gatherings and our annual big events like the Press Ball, the Press Club Awards and the Cudlipp Lecture. Look out for dates. They will be coming soon.”
