BBC Director General to give inaugural Satchwell Lecture

The inaugural Satchwell Lecture is to be given by BBC Director General Tony Hall.

Lord Hall of Birkenhead, who has been DG during the years when the BBC has never been more in the headlines, will deliver his speech, at Stationers’ Hall on Monday 8 October.

The Lecture will be in honour of the Society of Editors former Executive Director Bob Satchwell and will raise funds for Bob’s rehabilitation following a stroke in January 2017. Spaces are limited so early booking is essential.

Taking place in November in Manchester, the Society of Editors annual conference has confirmed speakers including Paul Dacre, outgoing Editor of the Daily Mail, Kath Viner, Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian and Lloyd Embley, Group Editor-in-Chief of Reach plc. The conference is a key event in the media calendar and will take place on Sunday 4 November and Monday 5 November.

For more information and to book, email the Society of Editors here.
