Looking forward to 2014

A New Year message From Doug Wills, London Press Club chairman:

Firstly, may I wish you the very best for 2014. It promises to be another fascinating year, not least with the build-up to next year’s General Election and the Press Charter/IPSO in full debate. Last year was a good one for London Press Club with a higher profile including a new website and logo, innovative events well attended and an increase in membership. We held much-talked about debates on investigative journalism and Women in Media; launched the first In The Spotlight session with the new editor of The Sun questioned by John Pienaar; and received much acclaim and coverage for our awards lunch in May which included the presentation to Lord Coe of the inaugural Londoner of the Year award. The Press Ball in October was a momentous event at the superb venue of the Royal Courts of Justice and raised £30,000 for the Journalists’ Charity. The Club was delighted to work with significant organisations in 2013, including London&Partners, YouGov, Camelot, Barclays and Harvey Goldsmith. On the strength of the Club’s success, Skoda signed a 12-month sponsorship deal. We have now also formed a partnership with Editorial Intelligence, more details of which will be available soon.

The year ahead promises to be even better for London Press Club members, starting off with the events below. Availability of tickets is limited so please email [email protected] to reserve your places today.
